Tamu losar


Tamu is another name of gurung community in nepal .Losar means, New years .Tamu losar is celebration in push 15 in Nepali date by Gurung community.
In losar Gurung people come to celebrate at a common place rejoice in various cultural processions,feasting and greeting and enjoy each other. Losar is Nepali date of 15 push marks the end of winter and start of spring.Gurung all across the world celebrate Tamu by organizing rakkies in traditional attires and culture programs .they also visit Buddhist shrines on the day.The day in the losar and events are opportunities to nepal travel to wittiness culture her of the gurung community. gurung divide time in to cycles of 12 years (lohokor)to each oriental astrological system,there are 12 i-hos -grauda ,serpent ,horse ,sheep ,monkey, dog ,deer ,mouse ,cow ,tiger ,and cat ,each years marked by particular animal and they are early days.When there was no calendar system in  nepal 12 rotation system by to calculate people ages s push is marked of the spring losar. In that  day gurung people ware a white cloth shirt like- apparel tide across the back (for carrying thing)and a kachhadd like a short ,sarong or kilt,Gurung women both children and adolescent's were seen in their maroon ,veluet Ghalek (blouses)enhanced by large gold earning and semi-precious stone Necklaces.Some times stalls selling verities of delicacies are set up people from different area,family individuals in the common gathering place to celebrate losar.
