Dudh Pokhari means milky pond which is situated at 4,560 meters allivation from the sea level. Dudh Pokhari have carried really heavy history of Nepal since very long time when Nepal was in fourty five different kingdom. That time the mother of two king Gorkha's and Lamjung's drop her breast milk in this lake to stop fighting between two brother. So this pond is spirit and epicenter of unity Nepal. Now there is a river name Chepa which is starting from this holy pond. From this time its one of the major pilgrimage site where great fair is occured on Janai Purnima in August.
 manly Gurung communities are there.According to legends, some three thousand years back the Tamu community now known as Gurung entered this area through Namun Bhanjyang from Tibet & settled there. Tamu community had their own king in the ancient days whose palace is still there for everyone to see; therefore, this place is also known as Tamuwan. Hence, the trek in the Dukh Pokhari offers the first-hand experience of the ethnic lifestyle of these indigenous people.
 

 Dudh Pokhari is looking for an interesting mountain to climb.This is adventurous trek that require the correct way of walking on the difficult trails. The paths are not so easy they are narrow with full of rocks. So one should have experience of walking through the remote villages. And sometimes we don'Dudh Pokhari or Lake is situated at the east of Marshyangdi river, the south western slopes of Baudha Himal and Himalchuli of Mt Mansalu Massif (killer mountain) in the between of Lamjung and Gorkha t have the particular trail we should follow the pasture trail also.
 

 n the religious way, there is a strong belief that if you take a bath in this Dudhpokhari ( Milky Lake) three times then all your sins committed in this lifetime get purified. During the Janai Purnima (Sacred Thread Ceremony) thousands of pilgrimage and visitors through this place for holy worship. Hindus worship this place as a site for Holy Pilgrimage and a lot of devotees take this place as the gateway to heaven. Thus the trek to this place is experience of Culture, Nature, remote villages, people as well as it has a good geographical importance and other attractions.
