Sarangkot Pokhara in Nepal

Sarangkot is a village just above Pokhara, known as a one-night destination as most people just stop in to see the stunning sunrise over the Annapurna range and leave. Though that is where guides lead people astray as many show up here expecting just to come for one day and want to stay longer. Aside from chilling out and taking in amazing views of both the mountains and Phewa Lake on the other side, Sarangkot offers a nice glimpse into the peaceful, slow village life and more. Sarangkot is a village that is both close and far away. Convenient and rustic. It’s a nice hour or two hike from Pokhara Lakeside or a short drive, but it feels like it’s a world away with the quietude of nature and the peaceful vibe of the village. It used to be the first stop on the classic Annapurna circuit, but since a road was built a few years back linking Pokhara to a point closer to the park,

Paragliding in Nepal can be a truly wonderful and fulfilling experience for the adventure seeker. A trip will take you over some of the best scenery on earth, as you share airspace with Himalayan griffin vultures, eagles, kites and float over villages, monasteries, temples, lakes and jungle, with a fantastic view of the majestic Himalaya. Paragliding is another adventurous activities being carried out in Nepal to amuse the visitors. There are various places suitable for organizing paragliding but Sarangkot (1592m) in Pokhara is the best among all. We would go for at least 30 to 45 minute flight which would provide an exiting experience .  will explain and about it and teach its use so that it would be easy for anyone to control the glider. October to April is the best period for paragliding in Nepal. It is one of the best ways to view Nepal and its Himalayan panorama by a short flight from Sarankot. While on flight , one can observe the glory of Annapurna range and beautiful landscape around Pokhara valley, virgin Mt; Fishtail (Machhapuchhre), Lamjung Himal, Annapaurna Himal, Himchuli, Fewa Lake, Rice field, Rivers and settlements.

Sarangkot can be reached easily by 45 minutes by a taxi ride to the top and then 45 minutes hike up to the main view point. Many tourists come to Sarangkot for sunrise view and go back after few hours but it will be good if tourist stay there for one night and enjoy the view and city light of Pokhara from Sarangkot. Paragliding can also be done from Sarangkot. Tourist can also have a breakfast at one of the hotels in Sarangkot and do the small trek up to Deurali and walk down to the highway and then take the bus back to Pokhara.

Sarangkot is located at an hours drive from the city center and is famous for providing some breathtaking views of the Annapurna range. It has also become synonymous with paragliding in Pokhara. We visited Sarangkot around noon. A winding smooth roadway led us upto a point beyond which a short but steep trek had to be undertaken. 4 wheel drive...
